The Xd unit combines our revolutionary oblique sanding procedure with cross belt technology. Our engineers observed that a significant number of customers are using their cross belt unit in combination with a large grain sanding paper in order to achieve a rough sawn finish. The only weakness of this otherwise ingenious hack: The operator has to place the workpiece at a slight angle to correct for the conveyor speed and get a saw finish perfectly perpendicular to the workpiece. This is a risk because it is very difficult to know exactly at which angle to place the workpiece. And by rotating it on the conveyor belt you're loosing precious working width too. Therefor Kündig came up with the solution of putting the cross belt unit at an angle to provide a professional solution for a widespread application. This technology now finds use in door and window production.
